Hey there! I'm Shannon, the artist, photographer, and Tea Witch behind Sage & Lens.

I couldn't decide what I wanted to create and share into the world, so I decided to do it all! Not only am I a portrait and wedding photographer, but I am also a visual artist who is endlessly inspired by nature, and I have an affinity for making loose-leaf herbal tea blends that have natural wellness properties. I find I have a deep connection with nature and I draw my inspiration from the beauty in the otherwise overlooked and sometimes "ugly" facets of the world around me.

Homemade Loose-Leaf Teas

Sage & Lens was born from a desire to expand my passion for tea drinking into tea making. I strive to blend only locally sourced and homegrown ingredients from my own backyard in order to brew tonics and teas that both support the body and soothe the soul.

It is one rainy spring day if you ask me, but these beauties sure brighten up the mood for me! I can’t wait to get these babies in the ground for the tea garden. ♥️ special thanks to @gardenfactoryny for stocking me up this year on fabulous and healthy herbs and florals!!

Fun fact: I now have 4 different types of lavender 😍🌱 I cannot wait to make a specialty lavender tea line with them this summer. ♥️

We’ve got plants in the ground! Or should I say, raised bed. 🤪

This past weekend was SO productive in the yard. I can’t wait to keep building more beds, planting more herbal plants for tea-making, and harvesting more native plants in my yard.

It was after I’d prepped this garden bed that l realized I forgot my cardboard weed barrier….. oh well!

I can’t wait to get this bed finished up and get another one assembled and setup for my seed starters!! I’ve got so many wonderful herbs and florals that are growing up so fast; they’re just itching to enjoy this beautiful spring weather.

My very first art show on my very first “First Friday”!!

Monochrome Mycology: Darkroom Photographs by (yours truly!!) will be on display @captivatedstudios for the entire month of April!! Stop by and see some of my analog photos which I have developed and enlarged by hand; old school methods!!

Boy did I get so much done! I spent my weekend creating some new tea recipes and I am OBSESSED with them all so far, especially my Creativi-Tea that I sipped while I worked on my last 2024 Wedding album and made some tweaks to my new website. I felt so INSPIRED all day and I have to think that my Creativi-Tea played a part in that 🥰✌🏻

I can’t wait to keep testing out more recipes and getting ready to launch the tea shop online!!
